I used all ready to eat snacks so the only thing left to do was arrange them on a platter. Be sure to choose snacks/candies of varying size and texture to be the most appealing and fill your platter as full as possible. If you can’t fill your platter or tray, choose a different one! It makes all the difference when it comes to presentation.

As a mom of two girls, now 4 and 6 (7 in a few weeks!) and as a mommy blogger, I’ve had the opportunity to test many products on the market for this age range and am sharing our favorites plus a few we haven’t tried yet but have great reviews and we’ve added to our wishlist. I’ve been wanting to do a Seafood Boil for so long and finally did it last weekend; highly recommend! The flavor was perfect and it was so easy to do. I used three different types of sausage in the boil, all from the Kiolbassa brand. I used their Smoked Beef Sausage, Jalapeño Beef Smoked Sausage and Roasted Garlic Smoked Sausage; we love their meats! The jalapeño and garlic sausages especially added to the overall flavor of our meal.

I came across my wedding photos the other day. WHOA.😳I’m sure I’m not the only one that recognizes a change. As we age, get married, maybe have babies (and then devote our time and bodies to them) it can be easy to let yourself go a little bit. We stop caring as much about hitting the gym and all of those yummy homemade married meals and desserts (and margaritas!🤣) start taking a bit of a toll. 5 pounds turns to 10. Or 15. Or heck maybe even 50.
Looking back, I can’t remember a time that I DIDN’T want to lose a few pounds. That’s always been me. But as I’ve gotten older and happier with who I am I haven’t worried as much about the extra calories in “one more glass of wine” or eating my kids leftover Mac and cheese for lunch because hey, I don’t want to be wasteful.😬😅
The problem with that is, after a couple years, I found myself looking at someone I didn’t want to be. It’s not just about the weight but about the confidence and how my clothes fit and the things I didn’t want to do because of these new insecurities. I’ve tried diets and cleanses and keto and intermittent fasting and while all of those can leave you with great results, it can be difficult to stick with long term.
For the most part I eat healthy. I focus on salads and vegetables and throw in protein shakes and protein bars when I get hungry. But I’m also not one to turn down a taco Tuesday or a White Claw (or four) #balance.😂I don’t stick to a strict exercise plan and quite honestly I don’t want to. My kids are still little and I like taking them on walks and bike rides or spending our afternoons dancing to songs from The Greatest Showman.
I thought I had gotten to an age that I would always feel self-conscious in a swimsuit, would always be nervous to take my coverup off, would always have that extra belly bloat that reminds me of being 10 weeks pregnant, and always wearing loose t-shirts to hide my midsection. And I was almost okay with it because honestly I didn’t know what else to do. Devoting hours a day to exercise didn’t seem feasible long term and I didn’t want to give up my occasional treats.
INSERT TRIM. I’ve been blown away. The difference I’ve seen so quickly has blown me away. 1 tablespoon, once a day (preferably morning) and I very quickly noticed a difference in my midsection. Hey guys! Hope you are having a fabulous weekend; I can’t believe how quickly February is flying by! I’m eagerly awaiting spring and hope it shows up sooner rather than later because I’m COLD.🥶🤣We are heading to California for a vacation soon and I may not come back.😆If it weren’t for our gorgeous PNW summers I probably wouldn’t but those can’t be beat!
Last week I shared in my Instagram stories about a “Favorite Things Party” I went to with a few friends and I received soooo many DMs saying how fun it sounded and asking for ideas as to what to bring and how to play the “favorite things” game so I’m summing it up here and sharing my favorites for ideas. It was super easy to play and we had so much fun plus you get to go home with a couple awesome items from your friends!
How To Play
I’m sure there are many ways to play the Favorite Things Party Game but this is the way we played. It’s super simple and doesn’t require much time though you could pause between rounds for snacks/drinks/talking to make it take longer if desired.
Our hostess had everyone write their name on a piece of paper and set the item(s) they brought on a table next to the slip of paper with their name so that everyone would know it was from them (you could also skip this so it’s a secret or wrap the presents so it’s a surprise what is inside)! We then wrote our name again on a second piece of paper and put it in a hat or bowl. Designate someone (or take turns) pulling names out of the hat/bowl and whoever’s name is drawn is the person that gets to go pick their prize from the table. You continue drawing names until everyone’s name has been drawn and had a turn choosing an item, then put all the names back in for round 2. Repeat for round 3. Then everyone went around the room saying why they love the item they brought which was fun to hear!
We had each person bring 3 of the same items and played 3 rounds (everyone went home with 3 items) but you could change that number as well.
What To Bring
Set a dollar limit. You could have each person bring one $30 item. Or 2 $20 items. Or we did 3 $5-10 items. Whatever your preference.
I brought this $5 lipgloss that has been a favorite of mine for years (my favorite color is the creme brûlée but I have it in a few shades).

In the $10 to $20 range I included my favorite teeth whitening pen, makeup eraser cloth that erases all makeup with only water and cosmetic travel bag that has been such a game changer for me when traveling!
And last but not least, a few items I found that I thought would be perfect for the game if you’re wanting $20 to $60 items!🥰
